NEA Classes 2015-2016

New England Academy's 2015-2016 academic year is divided into Fall, Winter, and Spring. The Fall session begins in September and runs for 10 weeks. While two debate classes are listed below, others will be added as existing classes fill. Fall Classes

Introductory Debate: Tuesday, 4 to 6 PM from September 1 to November 3 - This class introduces students to the fundamentals of argumentation, refutation, and speaking with confidence. Students will be taught the structure of logical arguments.

Intermediate Debate: Wednesday, 4 to 6 PM from September 2 to November 4 - This class builds on the fundamentals introduced in introductory debate. Students will be taught to recognize fallacies of argumentation, analyze opponents arguments for weaknesses, and construct complex responses to arguments. Prerequisites: Introductory Debate or permission of instructor.

 

Winter Classes

Intermediate Debate: Tuesday, 4 to 6 PM from November 17 to February 16 - This class builds on the fundamentals introduced in introductory debate. Students will be taught to recognize fallacies of argumentation, analyze opponents arguments for weaknesses, and construct complex responses to arguments. Prerequisites: Introductory Debate or permission of instructor.

Intermediate Debate: Wednesday, 4 to 6 PM from November 18 to February 17 - This class builds on the fundamentals introduced in introductory debate . Students will be taught to recognize fallacies of argumentation, analyze opponents arguments for weaknesses, and construct complex responses to arguments. Prerequisites: Introductory Debate or permission of instructor.

 

Spring Classes

Intermediate Debate: Tuesday, 4 to 6 PM from March 1 to May 10 - This class builds on the fundamentals introduced in introductory debate. Students will be taught to recognize fallacies of argumentation, analyze opponents arguments for weaknesses, and construct complex responses to arguments. Prerequisites: Introductory Debate or permission of instructor.

Intermediate Debate: Wednesday, 4 to 6 PM from March 2 to May 11 - This class builds on the fundamentals introduced in introductory debate .
